Day 1 - Sunday Arrival Cape Town

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by ILIOS Travel representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at The President Hotel (standard room) or similar.

Day 2 - Monday Cape Town / Clanwilliam / Langebaan (Breakfast)

Early morning travelling from the Mother City to the Western Cape, an almost undiscovered treasure trove of unspoilt beaches, incredible mountain ranges, geographic diversity, and the most amazing carpet of wildflowers in Spring. Drive past villages such as Citrus from its synonymous with its superior fruits and products, and Clanwilliam, one of the oldest towns in South Africa and also recognized as being the only place where plants are cultivated and famous for its locally made veldskoen or leather shoes. Here you would visit the Rooibos Factory, the only active production plant. After this fascinating visit, an opportunity would be to enjoy lunch (to own account) before heading to Elandsberg Eco Tourism farm. Here you would embark on a Rooibos safari through the rooibos plantations and the processing plant. Continue to the coastal hamlet of Langebaan via the coastal route. Day 3 - Tuesday West Coast (Breakfast)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading to Paternoster. Paternoster, meaning "Our Father" derives its name from the prayers of ship-wrecked Portuguese sailors. Visit the Cape Columbine Lighthouse which was the last manned lighthouse constructed, and it rests on a windswept coastline within the Columbine Nature Reserve. The spiral staircase within the lighthouse takes one high enough for incredible views out over the Britannia reef and the Atlantic. Cape Columbine stands on a massive outcrop of rock known as Castle Rock from where you could view dolphins and whales (during the season). Browse around the town of Paternoster, drinking in the nostalgic atmosphere of this old fishing village before heading to the West Coast Fossil Park for a guided tour. Return to Langebaan for a relaxed afternoon at leisure. Section of the West Coast National Park Or, more horse-riding or to follow the walking/nature trails (any additional charges to own account). Day 4 - Wednesday Langebaan / Darling / Franschhoek (Breakfast)

After breakfast, we make our way to the Khwa the San Culture & Education Center. The Saints themselves will take you on a journey into their history, traditional knowledge, skills, languages, customs and current affairs. This enjoyable and eye-opening event will stay with you for a long time. Continue to Groote bay on a clear day. Travel to the wine region of Franschhoek where you would spend the following two nights.

Day 5 - Thursday Franschhoek (Breakfast, Dinner)

Franschhoek Valley as a journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. Commence the experience with a visit to the Huguenot Memorial, then to Haute Cabriere, Chamonix, Rickety Bridge and ending the experience at Grande Provence. Lunch (to own account) could be taken at any of these estates. This evening includes dinner at the hotel before retiring for the night. Overnight Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa (standard room) or similar.

Day 6 - Friday Cape Winelands / Cape Town (Breakfast)

Breakfast and check-out of the hotel. Depart Franschhoek and travel over the Helshoogte Pass to Stellenbosch. En route, stop at Boschendal Wine Estate for a tasting before spending some time in the 'dorp' (town) of Stellenbosch with its characteristic Cape Dutch buildings and historic landmarks such as 'Oom Samie se Winkel'. Continue to Clos Malverne for the day before heading to Paarl. Stop at the Taal Monument and Laborie Wine Estate before heading back to Cape Town. Overnight at The President Hotel (standard room) or similar.

Day 7 - Saturday Cape Town (Breakfast)

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Cape Town. Overnight at The President Hotel (standard room) or similar.

Day 8 - Sunday Cape Point & Peninsula (Breakfast)

Cape Point and Peninsula Tour. We are along the Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at Llandudno lookout point before continuing to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach (optional boat trip to Seal Island - to own account). Continue via Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve. After lunch at a nearby restaurant (not included in the price), we go to historic Simon's Town - a charming village with Victorian architecture, a large base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. Boulders Penguin Colony is home to a growing colony of the vulnerable African Penguin. The penguins in their natural habitat and there is also a new information centre. Day 9 - Monday Robben Island & City Tour (Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will be collected for your scheduled Robben Island & City Tour. Including all the `must-see` of any Cape Town day tour, this option is a geographical and extravaganza. The tour commences with a ferry trip across the bay to Robben Island. (Weather permitting). From the 17th to the 20th centuries, Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment. Today it is a World Heritage Site and museum, a reminder of the newly democratic South Africa and the price paid for freedom. Into the city itself to drive through Bo-Kaap to discover how the Malay slaves influenced the culture, food and aesthetics of this beautiful city and its people. Continue to Table Mountain where you can reach the top by cable car (weather permitting; cable car fee not included). Enjoy the panoramic views over the city with Robben Island lying sleepily in Table Bay. Also, get a bird's eye view over the Atlantic Seaboard. Return to the city bowl area to the Company Gardens. Enjoy the walk through the garden and visit the SA Museum. This is followed by a visit to the Castle of Good Hope. Day 10 - Tuesday Cape Town / Overberg / Swellendam (Breakfast, Dinner)

Morning Departure from Cape Town over the Hottentots-Holland Mountains Stops at the Hamilton Russell Vineyards near Hermanus for a tour & tasting of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley terroir-driven wines. During whale season (June to December), also stop in Hermanus which boasts the best land-based whale watching along its cliff path. Here you would have the option of embarking on an eco-marine (all year round) and whale watching (seasonal) boat trip (additional charge). After lunch (to own account), continue to Swellendam - the third oldest settlement in South Africa. Dinner is enjoyed at the hotel restaurant. Overnight Schoone Oordt Country House (standard cottage) or similar.

Day 11 - Wednesday Swellendam / Mossel Bay / Plettenberg Bay (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After a leisurely breakfast, depart Swellendam and enjoy your journey along the Garden Route via Mossel Bay. Travel to Plettenberg Bay - millionaires playground for lunch and stroll along the white sandy beaches. Check into your accommodation during the afternoon. Dinner is enjoyed at the lodge. Overnight Hog Hollow Country Lodge (standard room) or similar.

Day 12 - Thursday Plettenberg Bay / Tsitsikamma (Breakfast, Dinner)

After breakfast, get up-close and personal with nature at the Elephant Sanctuary. These gentle giants are the places to visit. After lunch (to own account), travel to the Tsitsikamma National Park. Described as the 'garden of the Garden Route', the Tsitsikamma deserves to the more vivid description to encapsulate the beauty of the place. Walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River mouth gorge which offers visitors incredible views and photo opportunities. Spend some time at leisure in the town of Plettenberg Bay - 'millionaires' playground' - before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 13 - Friday Plettenberg Bay / Knysna / Oudtshoorn (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Morning departure from Plettenberg Bay to the lakeside town of Knysna - the gem of the Garden Route. Embark on an excursion to the Featherbed Nature Reserve which is located on the western Knysna Head. A trip across the lake to the base of the western head, a drive to the top of the reserve and an optional 2.2 kilometre downhill nature trail walk. The tour ends with a delicious lunch served under the shade of the milkwood trees. On return to the mainland, continue your journey to Oudtshoorn. Visit an ostrich show farm for a guided tour. Following this visit of discovery, check into your overnight accommodation. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 14 - Saturday Oudtshoorn / Route 62 / Cape Town (Breakfast)

Before departing Oudtshoorn enjoy a morning visit to the Cango Caves Travel along the famous Route 62 to Cape Town. The ever-changing colours of the majestic mountains, scenic passes, rivers, vineyards and orchards offer you an unforgettable kaleidoscope of scenic tranquillity. Stop at the Country Pumpkin Restaurant near Barrydale for lunch (to own account). After lunch (to own account), enjoy a slow drive to Cape Town. Overnight at The President Hotel (standard room) or similar.

Day 15 - Sunday Departure (Breakfast)

Breakfast and check-out of the hotel. Today you will be transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight arrangements.
